This meter, like its sister meter the CareSens POP, requires only 0.5μl of blood and takes 5 seconds to get a reading of your blood glucose level.  Slightly bigger than the CareSens POP meter it has some additional benefits:

 

 

 

  • Stores 250 test results so that you can see the trend of your blood glucose tests over time
  • Has date and time to link your blood glucose test to the date and time you have tested
  • Uses the same test strip as the CareSens POP meter; have both meters:
    o CareSens II as your main meter
    o CareSens POP as a second meter for social occasions where you may prefer a more discreet meter, and convenience of being popped in your pocket or purse

Your doctor may prescribe a CareSens II meter if you are newly diagnosed as diabetic and being prescribed Insulin or a sulphonylurea medicine.  In such an instance, your CareSens II meter is reimbursed through the New Zealand Pharmaceutical Schedule and available on prescription from your community pharmacy.

 

If you wish to purchase a CareSens II meter they are available from your pharmacy at a modest price.
